Black Mass

Black mass

Tear me apart again

Pull away sinew from bone.

I collapse in on myself
Conscious efforts fall short
I watch as time moves faster

Losing all that I held dear

Devoid of reason.
Implausible existence comes to life.
Sentience has been achieved.

The black hole erupts.

I am awake.

Starving for matter, I crawl towards the nearest satellite.
Tendrils of absent light consume my virgin meal, crushed into density infinitesimal.
Without hesitation or remorse I feed.
Gaze up towards the sky.
Event horizon,
Everything in my path will die.
Burning flash of light
Great stars engulfed by the ceaseless feast of my unending collapse.
Space-bound survivors revel in my might.
Everything will die.

The conversion settles.
Slivers of my former mind still exist.
I’m torn between realities
Stuck in the black

I am god.
I am existence given form.
My infantile consciousness directs me towards one of my kin, one hundred-fold grander than myself but without mind.
Could it be my new vessel?
To quell my hunger forever?

I attempt to merge.
Plunge me into the maw of the void, it consumes me but the plan has failed.
My consciousness begins to spill, spread throughout the lightless sphere, cannibalised.
Unable to escape.
Inside I slumber.
I will return.
